As part of the Japan Scholar program, researchers from Showa Women's University visited universities in India and delivered lectures for local students. The lectures introduced the efforts to address gender issues in Japanese society, as well as opportunities for studying in Japan and the Japanese higher education system.
Students listened attentively to Chancellor Mariko Bando's lecture on her long-standing efforts to address gender issues. The Q&A session also featured lively discussions among students of all genders, making the lectures highly meaningful.
It is hoped that this initiative has provided valuable opportunities for exchanges with the Japanese researchers and will contribute to increased student interest in studying in Japan.
Japan Scholar Program
The Japan Scholar Program sends researchers affiliated with research institutions in Japan to universities and high schools in South Asia, where they give mock lectures and talks about studying in Japan. The program aims to promote Japan's research capabilities and educational strengths through lectures to local high school and university students.
